Autumn mist

Mist rising up from the river
Leaves change to orange and red
Sun shining low in the misty glow
And summer flowers all but dead

The key now is guessing just what to wear
when weather can change just like that
It's handy to know that wherever you go
you need brolly, sunglasses and hat

Autumn is slow but not sleepy
It's taking the time to take stock
It's gathering nuts, not stuck on our butts
So that winter is not such a shock

So with mist rising up from the river
and the trees showing off their best side
I am ready to face the next stage of the race
and am taking the change in my stride.
