K was in town this morning for a course, so not only did I get a lift right to the door of the shop this morning, but I got the unusual, and very rare pleasure of having lunch in town with my beloved.
We didn't have a lot of time, and we didn't go anywhere fancy, but it was lovely just to be able to sit and enjoy each others company for a short, uninterrupted while.
I think that sometimes I take my nearest and dearest for granted. I suppose on a day to day basis we all do. Today I was reminded of how important it is to stop and remember sometimes that the people closest to us are our greatest treasures, and should be treated as such.
So, today I am grateful for a few moments taken to remember just how full my treasure chest is.
Gratefully yours.
xx
Lovely post ! Yes take every minute you can to enjoy each others company- he is after all your very best friend as well as the person you love !
ReplyDeleteI agree - we get more together than most probably, not having kids. Once of the plus sides is not having to share him!
ReplyDeleteAya said the other day when I suggested NOT eating all the pancakes we had made, 'OK we'll keep these ones for your favorite friend Grandad.' Out of the mouths of bairns! xx
