Family

There really is nothing like your family.

My father-in-law is 70 on Tuesday, and his daughters organised a surprise party for him this afternoon. Not only were four of his five children there and five of his seven grandchildren, but also his youngest brother and seven of his sisters! (He is one of a family of 15 children, 14 of whom are still on the go!)

Once you add in three nieces, a wife and six assorted spouses ( or should that be spice??) that adds up to quite a party!!

And the look on his face when he walked in really was priceless! He truly was surprised, and very emotional.

It was amazing to be a part of that big family gathering, and to truly be made to feel as if I belonged.

So, today I am grateful for family.

They say you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family....but I think I chose pretty well!!!

My contribution to the party was 3 pavlovas! I had great fun making them and trying new flavours! I made a banoffi one, a double strawberry one and a rose and raspberry one (which went down very well!!).

I just wanted to tell you that so that I could show the photo of them!! I was very proud of my babies!!!

YUMMEE!!!

Gratefully yours.
xx
