I'm sorry, but you just can't beat a pecan danish! I know, I know...not exactly the healthy option, but what can I say? Today I am most definately greatful for pecan danish!
In my defence, we had been for a half hour, fairly pacey walk along the lovely river walk in Adare, followed by a good swim (not in said river, I might add) en famille. Now, both kids are now fairly confident in the water, so it is not the stressful affair it used to be, but I still wouldn't class it as a relaxing pass-time! I'm really not complaining...it was actually great fun for all of us...and at least it got us out of the house and using up some energy!
Why do we find it hard to motivate ourselves to do the things that we know are not only good for us, but also make us feel good? It never ceases to confound me. I am enjoying getting out for walks, playing sports on the X-box with the kids and not over-eating! I am enjoying not watching the telly all evening, but actually doing stuff...anything other than plonked in front of the tv! So why, oh why, will I find it so hard to keep doing these things in a few weeks time?
Answers on a postcard, please!!!
