I was reminded again today how it's the little things that make all the difference.
My big sis has a birthday coming up in the next few days, so I went on the Internet today to find her a nice pressie. When I eventually found something I liked, the order went through like a dream...but I realised that I had seen no box asking if I wanted it gift wrapped or anything like that. So, I was imagining a cardboard box, complete with invoice, arriving on her doorstep.
But no....some people, it seems, do still care about other people! I got an e-mail this evening from the girl who's site I had used. She said that she had noticed that the name for delivery was not me, so she took the liberty of gift wrapping the parcel and not including an invoice! Now that's what I call customer service!
And it really does make all the difference. Too many people, in shops, on the street, on the roads, are just so wrapped up in their own wee worlds that they take no time to see anyone else around them. They don't have time for courtesy or even plain good manners. And yet all it takes is a moment, a smile, a "thank you".
So, today I am grateful for people who care.
There are still a few out there. I would like to count myself among them. It's actually quite mind-blowing to think of how many people's lives I touch every day, and therefore how many chances I have to show that I care. How many chances I get every day to make a difference!!! Wow!
Gratefully yours.
xx
I love the little things that people do to show they care! X
ReplyDeleteYes, we all think we have to make grand gestures, but often a smile is all it takes!
