I've just spend a lovely, cosy half-an-hour cuddled up in beside Meggie, and then Thomas, reading stories.
It was supposed to be that I would read my book and Meg would read hers...but it didn't quite work out that way. First we read her book from the school library, all about brown bears in the wild. Then she decided she wanted one of the books that we've been reading at bed-time forever. It stretched, of course, to two, but how can you say no to such lovely stories? They are just such gentle, comforting stories, and, what the heck, don't we all need a wee bit of "Something Happy" every now and then?
Then it was through to Thomas. He is working his way through the Children's Bible at the moment!!! And seems to be loving it! At least I got to read my book! But again, just a wee 10 minute cuddle while we read seemed to do us both good.
So, today I am grateful for books.
I am always amazed when I hear about people, children especially, who don't read much. You can get so much from a book... not just a good story! I am very glad that my kids have developed a love of reading, thanks in large part to my sisters, who bought them many wonderful books from a very young age.
I am also very glad that I am a hoarder! Some of the books upstairs, including the ones I was reading with Meggie tonight, were given to Thomas when he was a wee tot!
Gratefully yours.
xx
Sorry I got a bit behind, but that's me all caught up now!! Wouldn't want to miss a single day x
