Lady Luck

Today I am grateful that Lady Luck has been with me!

I'm just in from the Limerick greyhound racing track! It was a late Christmas party for my work and when it was put forward as a suggestion I wasn't sure about it at all! I've never been before and had no idea what to expect. As it turns out it was all very civilised...and I came home with some more dosh than I left with!

We were sitting in the restaurant, next to huge windows overlooking the track. We were actually level with the finish line (which was also the starting gates for most of the races too, so we got a great view).

We didn't have to leave the table at all...except in the case of the pregnant ladies who were back and fore to the loo (as you do!). We were served a delicious meal, by very friendly and funny waiters, and even placed our bets with the wandering tote-man. He also brought us our winnings without us even having to move!

I had great fun pretending that I had some clue about what I was doing, but in reality it was pure good luck. Now, don't get me wrong...I won't be buying a new car or taking my family on a world cruise (sorry girls!), but it's nice to know that I have a wee bit stashed in the "back of my pursy" for emergencies. If I tell you that my biggest bet was €3, you'll get my drift! But it was a laugh.

Don't worry though...I'm not going to turn into a gambling maniac. As I said, I am fully aware that it was just pure dumb luck...and for that I am grateful!
