Choices

Life is full of choices. Some are difficult and some are easy. And some we don't even realise we are making, or that we even can make.

Choices like what to have for breakfast, what to wear and what to watch on tv, are choices that we make almost every day, and are aware of making. But how often do we notice that we can choose how we feel, or how we react to something? Do we stop to choose our words carefully before we say them?

We all have free will, which means that we have the freedom to make choices. We can choose not to behave in the same old way we always do. We can choose to react in a different way, perhaps a better way. We can choose to accept responsibility for our choices, and realise that it is not the fault of anyone else. The choice is ours and ours alone.

Today I am grateful for the realisation that the choice is mine.

I may choose wisely, or I may not! But the choice is mine. That means that I am responsible for how I feel. So if I don't want to feel angry, or sad or irritable, then I don't have to! I have the power!

It might be easier said than done, but the knowledge that I hold that power is a step in the right direction!

Gratefully yours.
xx
