Spring was in the air today. The sky was overcast but bright, the air cold but fresh. The swans on the river were getting amorous and the beautiful, wise, old Horse Chestnuts are beginning to show buds.
It just seemed different today. I don't know if you are in the "spring starts in February" or "spring starts in March" camp, but Mother Nature definitely decided that today was the big day and started the big reveal!
I love all the different seasons, as I think they all have very wonderful, special features, but I have to say that I think Spring really has the edge as far as beauty is concerned. Even the apple blossom (or is it the cherry blossom this early??) has begun to appear. I also saw one or two gorgeous jackets in bright pink and bright green getting their first airings of the year. It puts a smile on faces all over the place. Lifts the spirits.(And puts thoughts of shopping in the mind!!)
So, today I am grateful for the return of Spring.
In the eternal circle of life we are back at the beginning again....as I said yesterday, another chance!
